Dubai’s Gold Market

Dubai is a major international centre for physical gold trading. Its ecosystem brings together importers, refiners, bullion dealers and logistics providers, connecting producing regions with markets across the world.

For an individual transaction, the commercial route still depends on the parties, the product, the destination and the documentation supporting the shipment.

Gold From Africa

The description “African gold” covers many origins and supply chains. A meaningful assessment identifies the producing country, the mine or other source where applicable, the exporter and the route taken by the material.

Mining and trading permissions, evidence of lawful export, custody records and applicable taxes or royalties help establish provenance. An assay describes composition; it does not, by itself, establish lawful ownership or responsible sourcing.

Refining & Assay

UAE gold refiners operate within a responsible-sourcing and anti-money-laundering framework. For a proposed refining route, the refinery’s identity, permitted activities, applicable accreditation and independent assurance should be checked directly.

Doré, bullion and other refined products have different specifications. Purity, weight, sampling, assay methods and settlement terms must be agreed for the material concerned.

Before A Transaction

Buyer and supplier information belongs alongside the product records. Ownership, commercial authority, source of funds and payment arrangements must be understood, with sanctions screening and further verification where risks require it.
